About Christian Science

Teachings
Rosemary

Christian Science teaches that God is unchanging Love, that He is the ultimate power of good in our lives and the world. And from this basis, it explains that man is good and loved, as Jesus Christ taught. It also explains the Science or spiritual laws that enabled Jesus to heal; it answers questions about evil, and about spiritual reality.

Origins

Christian Science is based on eternal truths of the Bible. Mary Baker Eddy discovered these Biblical truths in 1866. She described them in a book that she named Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Along with the Bible, it includes the entire explanation of the teachings of Christian Science. This is her most important and widely read book.

Reading Rooms

Our Reading Room is currently located in our church near the Sunday School and is a place where anyone can learn about spiritual healing. All of the published materials about Christian Science are available, including the core teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, the inspirational magazines she founded, and various Bible translations.   Open M-W, 11AM-1PM

Church

People know us as Christian Scientists, though we are more formally known as The Church of Christ, Scientist.

Mary Baker Eddy ordained the Bible and Science and Health as Pastor of our Church. The sermon is presented each Sunday by elected local members, called Readers.

Christian Scientists study and pray with the sermon during the week and are strengthened by this spiritual unity.

You are welcome to join our services on Sundays at 10:30 AM

and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM.

Healthcare

Typical Christian Scientists are likely to use their unique approach to prayer as their means of treatment. We use this scientific system of Christian healing in our modern age because it works. For generations it has proved to be effective, many times after a medical diagnosis has indicated a condition is incurable. This approach to healing is fully explained in Mary Baker Eddy's writings.

"Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man."
